After a long day of medical training and packing, the social officers (Jeffrey, Dan, & Nina) + Hallie and I started the Sunday to scout out the location for the social! We lost our original spot to a man playing frisbee so we relocated to a nice shaded picnic area. The sun was beaming but we had a fun time practicing Vietnamese as we all tried to tell our team leaders what character from PvZ we are. We did a relay race as well where team Guacodile somehow finished 3 minutes before anyone else. They must've cheated. We were able to cool down though with a lovely game of water balloon toss with trivia questions. I had no idea broccoli can be counted as a flower! Obviously we won our trivia battle... but we ended up being the team with the 2nd lowest points. The potluck was filled with so much delicious food that it was mandatory to get seconds. My favorite was a vegan mac & cheese brought by Anh and Joseph that was really good and did not make my tummy hurt which tends to happen a bit...
There was no packing today since we packed everything on Saturday. This made the day feel more fun and less stressful as we all were focused on just bonding! Overseeing all the teams getting to know each other was extremely rewarding. It was so nice seeing everyone laugh and destress from the long day before. It was the first time that we saw all the officers and general members interacting with each other and was a great start to the many interactions I hope will continue during the mission trip!
